Frequently Asked Questions
Can you ship your products?
YES!
I can, and do, ship frequently via UPS or the USPS ~ I recommend second day air to ensure the product is as fresh as possible upon arrival at it’s destination.
Where can I purchase your products?
The best way is to deal directly with me, however…keep on eye on the ‘groovy news’ section of this site and watch for stores carrying my products and new products to be added.
I do, however, deliver my products to your home or office.
Are you a celiac?
Fortunately I do not suffer from celiac disease ~ I do, however, have food allergies…and am quite sensitive to people who must be careful about what they eat.
What steps to you take to ensure there is no cross contamination from wheat/gluten containing flours?
I keep separate bowls, spoons, whisks, measure tools and sponges for my gluten free baking. Additionally, this equipment is washed separate from items that may have come in contact with gluten.
I also bake my gluten-free items before any wheat flour items.
I am the only one who does any baking ~ so there is no chance of someone else ‘making a mistake’ and cross contaminating flours.
I truly take every precaution possible to prevent cross contamination in my kitchen. I am a ServSafe food handler instructor ~ so I know the rules, and I follow them, meticulously.
I also exclusively purchase high quality brand name flours (Bob’s Red Mills etc…)
I cannot however, take responsibility for contamination which may happen at a processing facility or ingredient suppliers.
What about diabetics?
As a rule, my use of unprocessed sugar is quite sparing.
I have had diabetics tell me that they have consumed my products and their blood sugar did not budge! I do not state this as a health claim, as obviously, this will vary from person to person. I was, however ~ quite happy to hear that.
For people with diabetes ~ I do not work with artificial sweeteners.
I can, however, use plant based sweeteners such as Agave nectar and bake with more whole grains, thus slowing the metabolism of the product. Some customers finds that this minimizes the impact on their condition.
Ultimately it is the responsibility of the individual to decide if indulging in my baked goods is consistent with their doctors recommendations and healthy life choices. I will, however, make every effort to accommodate your needs.
Do you really customize recipes?
Also ~ why is there a minimum order on certain items?
YES! Every single item I bake is somehow ‘made for you’ be it something small like adding nuts - or completely creating something new…each item that goes into my oven has someone’s name on it! For this reason ~ I’m sure you understand that with smaller items like cookies/cupcakes/muffins I must require a minimum order. As I cannot produce 1 or two cupcakes for someone. These, items however ~ have a 4 - 5 days shelf life in a sealed container and will keep for several months in the freezer.
Two people might also consider splitting an order if one dozen of my goodies in your home is too much temptation for you.
